Carlos Avila has developed his professional career in the US , Spain and, mostly, in the UK , working in the TMT and Investment Banking sectors; he has held roles that range from analysis and planning to strategy and business development, in companies such as British Telecom and Citigroup, among others. At present, he is an Executive Director at BBVA Corporate and Investment Banking, where he works as Head of Telecoms, Media and Technology within the Global Sector Strategy/Corporate Finance division. He is also a mentor at Startupbootcamp, a European startup accelerator network. Carlos received an MBA (specialising in Finance) from London Business School and prior to that he graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the Escola Tècnica i Superior d’Enginyeria de Telecomunicació de Barcelona (UPC) and in Physics (specialising in Physics of the Earth and of the Cosmos) from the University of Barcelona.
